Gopher Activity: Control vs. Prevention

May 26, 2022

As we transition into summer we know everyone is enjoying spending more time in their yards so we understand how frustrating it can be to see your landscapes damaged by the increasing levels of gopher activity.

We are often asked if there is a way to completely get rid of gophers and prevent them from coming back to wreak havoc on your properties. Unfortunately there is no 100% guaranteed treatment for gophers as they are native to the area. Basically we are living on their land so all we can do is attempt to control the amount of damage they cause by keeping their population in check through our baiting and trapping services.

If you are a part of our ongoing Gopher, Mole, and Vole Control Program you can also always utilize your UNLIMITED service calls if you are finding that you are experiencing high levels of activity in between your scheduled visits. If you employ a landscaper or gardener on your property you can even have them make service calls on your behalf as well!

We have a separate post about gopher prevention methods that includes gopher netting & fences.

This time of year, baby gophers have aged out of their dens which means there are more adult gophers on your property.  This is why we recommend our ongoing program, as we try to prevent baby gophers from becoming adults.  We know it’s frustrating to see new gopher mounds popping up but please call us as soon as you see new activity and we will address it as soon as possible!
