Palo Alto is recognized as a leader in technological development but it is nicely nestled between various open space preserves. This balance of modernity and nature provides an enriching area for us to live but unfortunately little pests can still make their way into our yards. Let us help you get rid of any invasive gophers, moles, or voles causing you trouble!
If you are seeing crescent-shaped piles of dirt and noticing your plants declining or completely disappearing then that likely indicates a gopher has moved into your yard.
If you’re noticing mounds but not really seeing any signs that your plants are being damaged or chewed at the roots then you may have a mole. They are also burrowing critters like gophers but they do not eat plants, although their digging can damage the roots of your lawn.
What if you’re not seeing mounds at all? Well, if you’re seeing little open holes (picture Swiss cheese) then you probably have voles. Voles are not good diggers like gophers and moles so they won’t leave behind piles of dirt. They do also eat plants like gophers do so you will likely notice trails of chewed down grass or the base of various plants with chew marks in them too.
Talk to us today and we guarantee you’ll receive service within two business days!
Gophers and moles are native to all of California so yes, they are common in the Palo Alto area! The beautiful parks and nature preserves add lots of enjoyment to the residents but unfortunately also give these critters the perfect spaces to thrive.
Burrowing pests like gophers and voles will eat away at your lawn and plants if left to their own devices. Moles, while not herbivorous like gophers and voles, can still damage your lawn and kill the grass with their digging.
We do our best to keep our services as minimally invasive as possible. For our gopher and mole trapping service our traps are placed fully underground and our expert technicians are trained to disturb your landscape as little as possible. The only way to know our traps are there is by the small white flags we’ll place in the area(s) where the traps are set.
For our vole baiting service, we do not leave bait scattered on the surface; it’s placed directly into the small vole holes. We will flag the treated areas with blue flags because there are some follow up instructions for you after our treatment.
