Contact the Gopher Team

Like most of Sonoma County, Windsor is another city that offers a prime location for wineries and breweries! It has ideal soil settings for vineyards and other crop raising. Unfortunately this also means the soil is ideal for critters like gophers to thrive. Read about the services we offer down below to help with gophers in your yard!

Gopher Control

Our team uses expert trapping techniques to take care of gophers. Gophers, like we mentioned, thrive in the same soil that many plants do. Since plants are their food source this means that gophers can and will move into any area with plentiful food! Gardens, vineyards, and orchards are all common victims for gopher damage. If you start seeing crescent-shaped mounds appear around your property just give us a call!

Mole Control

Moles are not herbivores like gophers but they can still be found in the nice rich soil of planting areas. Moles eat worms and other little insects which are also commonly found in nutrient dense soil. While moles will not eat your plants their mounds are unsightly and their digging can disrupt the root systems of various plants. We offer the same service for moles as we do for gophers so if you’re not sure which critter you have then it’s no problem!

Vole Control

Voles are another common culprit for plant loss or damage. Unlike gophers, they will not leave behind pushed up piles of dirt. Voles instead leave behind small, clean open holes (about golf ball size). They can chew down trails in the grass and strip away the base of plants. Our service for voles is quite different from our gopher and mole trapping service so be sure to read up on it!

FAQs

Are burrowing rodents common in newer Windsor neighborhoods?

Gophers are common everywhere in California, we built our homes in their habitats so they will come and go as they please. New construction can scare them off for sometime but as long as there are gardens with food then there is always a chance a gopher could move in. If your neighborhood in Windsor is located near any open space this does increase that chance of gopher activity. This is because once that open space dries up in the summer they will need to move around in search of plants to eat.

What happens if gopher activity is left untreated?

Gophers can and do sometimes leave on their own but you risk losing desirable plants – either by being eat by the gophers or their roots being disrupted by the gophers’ digging. However, if your landscape does not have any food sources then gophers will usually move on to find a better area.
